Hi - basically all my cameras are on the Unifi system, and I am also getting an AI Port.

Now, I got the EmpireTech IPC-B52IR-Z12E-S2 for LPR captures. What is a recommended NVR or setup to be able to capture images/clips from that camera?

Sorry for all the noob questions on this as previously I had a Lorex NVR, still do right now until i migrate a remaining camera off of it and the rest is a Unifi Protect setup.

Thanks!

If you are using the unifi system, why would you want to add an additional VMS to the mix.

Look around here and you will see folks have used the AI Port with Unifi with the Z12E. I think the big issue folks have had is that at night it doesn't work very well at recognizing the plate.

Also keep in mind that the Z12E is a camera we set up to manually read plates - it does not have ANPR automatic reading as part of it, so you would need a 3rd party like Blue Iris or Unifi AI Port or an NVR with that capability built in or something like Rekor to do the actual reading and logging of plates.

But if you only care about being able to play the clip back and freeze it to read the plate, going to Unifi will allow you to do that.
