Popping in to ask if anyone has seen this behavior. This morning, BI6... bailed.
It appears to only be a memory on my machine. Can't find the exe, shortcut is a dead end. I reopened BI5.... anyone have this experience? BI6 install had been via BI default upgrade process. I had simply followed every prompt. BI6 had been running as a service. I happened to see the desktop open rather than the usual BI screen. Looked closer, the icon on the toolbar for BI6 was gone. The shortcut on the desktop was gone. The exe is gone from the program folder.
My old BI5 shortcut is still on the desktop so I opened BI5, set to run as service and the cameras picked up and about 90 minutes was lost from cam files.
WIN11 dedicated desktop machine; Purple WDs.
19 cams, 4 POE switches, dual NIC, i7-(9th gen I think) 32MB RAM, 256SSD

The latest update of BI (6.0.9.6) was not properly digitally signed when it was first released, just go to "setup", "Check for News and Updates, select "Install latest update available" and re-apply the update with the correct signature
If you have Smart App Control turned on it may be blocking BI from running, click start and type "Smart App" in the top search box to open the Smart App Control and turn it off until you have reapplied the 6.0.9.6 update

Sounds like a virus scanner nuked it then. The BI help file recommends excluding the BlueIris.exe program, as well as the database and recording directories from virus scanners for performance reasons, and doing so would likely have prevented this from being an issue. However it is of course up to you whether or not to actually do that.

If you have a current support agrement, just down load the full install from the BI web site and reinstall, all the setting etc should still be there!

This is good stuff! I will do each of these steps. When I upgraded maybe a month ago, I paid for all of the offered features, but I'll have to verify I have the support.
Frankly, I am surprised that BI5 was able to just pick back up as I had assumed the new upgrade had disabled it.
