Hi, i have a new ptz set up with a spotter 180, without any overlapping intrusion zones, and no matter what I do my ptz keeps dropping autotrack. Im thinking maybe because my spotter double pings motion? autotrack timeout is set to 200 secs. What should I look into and what config should I attach for more details to diagnose? Thanks a lot

Can you show your IVS rules?

It shouldn’t matter as the only things that can break it away from a track in theory are:

  • tracking timeout
  • lose target due to obstruction
  • being called away by another spotter
  • time task

My theory is it’s never locked on to the target. It gets an activation signal from IVS but never actually locks on the target and gives up easily. It’s hunting

If you can play it in SmartPSS it would show the acquisition target box.

I’ll post a demo here shortly

The acquisition box does show, it tracks first then as soon as loses contact for a millisecond it drops back to preset. Im thinking maybe the spotter is constantly pinging motion and the PTZ picks up the same motion again right after it loses the person, so it tries to react to the same event on a duplicate ping, but after returning to the preset. Like round 2 but after returning to preset since it lost the target

And it’s not due to double tracking activations. Once the camera moves even a smidge from its preset, all IVS rules effectively disappear.

With a spotter, You could try putting a single small single directional IVS tripwire on your spotter where you know the target can’t cross it again and see if that works
