POE IP Cameras not recognized by NVR

I have what I believe is an Orion 8 channel Full HD NVR. It is working fine with the cameras that I received when I bought the system (used). I am trying to add new cameras but when I plug them in I get a connecting status bar but then it comes up with a message that camera is not recognized. Has anyone seen this and if so, what do I do to correct it.
 
What camera? what exact model NVR, it wont be plug and play with a different brand camera.
 
The only information I have on the NVR is on the front and it is 8CH Full HD NVR. Fron doing research I think is is an Orion brand. I have tried several different cameras and they all do the same thing.
