Looking for some feedback on planned setup

Planned setup is to have IP 1080p exterior cameras running to an internet switch.

I would monitor the cameras through an internet connection by phone or desktop.

This setup would not record using an NVR or computer. I am not as concerned with using system for security.

Main purpose is to monitor trees, plants, etc to be sure they are getting enough water while we are away.

Since I have the system, I might get an interior camera as well. I could use a cloud service for email notifications that the camera has been triggered and to store recorded images.

Will the camera software allow me to do this?

You can have the camera email you directly with snapshots of the motion and some cameras have a microsd card slot to record directly to the camera.
