My neighbor down the way asked if I could look at my security footage to see who took her mail. Apparently they took some financial info in an envelope in her mailbox then somehow proceeded to empty her debit account at a smallish local bank. It was a targeted scam apparently where someone posing as the bank called her and asked her to leave her debit card (cut in two) in the mailbox and they'd send a "special courier" to retrieve it from the mailbox. Yeah, so many red flags! Ugh!
I advised her that the cams are for my home security therefore will likely not see enough detail at that distance but that I'd provide to her what I could find. It's the mauve colored house down yonder. You can see her put her envelope in the mailbox then someone grab it 45 mins later. If I had a license plate camera I would have had this car nailed dead to rights. If the community wants to pay for a license plate suitable cam then I'd mount it but for now I don't feel I personally need one.
