Password reset without button? Dahua NVR6A08-32-4KS2

Does anyone know how to factory reset this Dahua NVR?
Hi all, I've exhaustively searched the internet for the last several days for the procedure to hard reset the Dahua NVR6A08-32-4KS2 back to factory defaults. There is no reset button OR 2-pin jumper header on the motherboard.

I identified a location for a solder-on micro switch and installed one. However pressing and holding this new switch while powering on the device does not reset it. Instead it just powers off. Pressing the button again after powering off, and it powers back on. Pressing and holding the button while powered on will turn it off.

You probably have to know the email entered in the Password recovery page of the NVR menu, to reset anything.

Spendy. I suppose you tried removing the CMOS battery for a couple hours to see if it becomes forgetful?

Yes I did remove the CMOS battery overnight, no effect. It's a second-hand unit, no way of knowing the email address used when it was configured.
