Optimum way to have HDD recording setup (Dahua NVR)?

Hi all

Currently have a Dahua NVR with two Dahua 2MP starlights cameras feeding in. Just got a 4TB WD purple drive so I can begin recording. What is the best way to record? What settings should I use? Can I set it up via Smart PSS?

I would NOT use SmartPss, plug a monitor into that NVR and do it that way Direct. Dahua Wikki has good basic instructions. ---->NVR/Recording Setup/Schedule Record - Dahua Wiki
