I have been setting up a B54IR-Z4E from Andy, which has been a great cam. However, I have one issue, not specific to the cam exactly which I cannot seem to solve. I have the cam added to a Hikvision NVR for continuous recording purposes, via ONVIF. This works quite nicely. However, due to some other API integrations I am doing with the cam, I need the cam to have its time set to NTP, with BST enabled.
I can do this, but it seems the Hikvision NVR keep overwriting this setting via ONVIF, reverting it to Manual time setting, even with 'IPC Time Sync' disabled in the Hik NVR - this has resulted in a few issues with the time on the IPC, but more importantly, the time reported by the IPC when I have been doing my custom integrations.
I have tried lowering the level of the NVR's ONVIF User on the IPC to 'operator' and 'user' instead of 'admin', in the hopes that this will allow the NVR to get the streams, without being able to modify time settings, but if I do this, the NVR is not able to connect to the IPC at all, reporting 'Incorrect username or password'.
As a last resort I could try adding the IPC streams to the NVR as RTSP, instead of ONVIF, as in theory, this won't allow the NVR to mess with any settings (I think). I would rather avoid this if possible, as ONVIF seems to work much better and is much less clunky on the NVR side.
Any suggestions? How can I prevent the NVR from meddling with IPC time settings?
