Nvr recording doubt

Hello everyone,
I have a doubt abour hikvision nvr

On the specs it says records upto 8mp
But in play back it says 1 channel 8mp
8 channel 1080p

What does it mean ?
If I have all cameras with 4 mp resolution, can it record all(8 camera) in 4 mp resolution
or

Only 1 camera at 4mp resolution and others at 1080p quality

I dont care if playback is 1080 if it can record at 4mp and I can copy video and view it somewhere

Hi Thanveer,

Depending on the model, if the model specs indicate it can record 8MP on all channels - that it can do that.

And it if states it can only display one "4K UHD / 8MP display - then you can only hook up one 4K display to it.

Yes the NVR may not have enough power to decode all the 4K channels for display purposes as the priority for processing power is given to recording.

Then. According to you, i will be able to review any channel at 8 mp .....but live view shows only 1 channel at 8 mp ?
