UPDATE:
I just completed the installation of an Amcrest (Dahua) 5MP Starlight IR Turret (IP5M-T1179E) 2.8mm camera on a gutter downspout. The Amcrest cam is nothing special as it doesn't have built-in AI but it was essentially a free camera I had sitting in my house for 4 years unused so I decided I'd gift it to my parents since they can always use more coverage. I had bought the camera for $49 just to try it out when I was first starting the camera project for my own house. I decided to return it for a full refund. For some reason, about a month later, it was shipped back to me by Amcrest....I have no idea why but THANKS AMCREST!
To mount the camera I used a universal pole mount bracket that is similar to the Dahua PFA152-E Pole Mount Bracket but a lot cheaper. I had a spare Dahua DH-PFB203W wall mount bracket laying around and it buckled up nicely to the pre-drilled holes in the pole mount bracket. The pole mount bracket came with some nice stainless hose clamps but I decided to use zip ties as I felt they'd grip nicely without crushing the downspout. The outdoor direct burial Cat6 is behind the downspout so it's not visible. Since the downspout is "white-ish" the white camera, brackets and zip ties blend in well enough not to stick out like a sore thumb.
Here are some pics in case someone would like to know how visible or unsightly a downspout mounted camera might look.
