Hey boys and girls, it seems we're getting a new 5MP Starvis 2 sensor soon. Samples of this sensor which is targeting the security camera market are already being tested by various OEMs.
The IMX785 will provide large 2.9 μm pixels, better HDR, better sensitivity (dynamic range 8 db better), better low-light sensitivity. The sensor can output 90fps in 10-bit all-pixel mode or 60fps in 12-bit all-pixel mode.
Recommended resolution of this 9.46 mm Type 1/1.7 CMOS sensor is 2592 x 1944.

Empiretech, any products in the pipeline with 1/1.7 sensor?

Only issue is it's not 4k.

5mp almost certainly means it's going to be 1080P (4mp after binning).

And like most 5mp cameras, it is a 4:3 aspect ratio. So, you either get black space on each side when viewing or the image is cropped to fit. Either way, in my opinion, not ideal. But what do I know
