The meth-dealer from an adjoining farm just got out of prison and crime/vandalism is climbing. Time for a more cams. Currently have a 8 cams (mixed brands), Blue Iris on a PC and a NVR (5216-16P-4KS2E).

I'd like perhaps:

1) 4 more cams with excellent, granular, tracking ability, POE
2) excellent low light, no light performance.
3) varifocus

4) is the new Blue Iris better than a generic NVR (Dahua, I think)?

Any ideas would be most welcome.
 
At what distances are these cameras meant to “track” people?

What do you l expect the recording device to add to the goals?
Generally all AI, tracking, image, settings are done on the cameras themselves anyway.

For sheet reliability and hands off operation I use Dahua NVRs. I have the same model you do. I also have a new latest and greatest model that I’ve nit hooked up yet. It’s been in the box for 2 months.

If you prefer tinkering with computers or have specific 3rd party add one or features you need that BI can deliver, it’s fine too. Though there are a few bandwidth restrictions that limit FPS and bitrate
