We actually had a Manatee in the canal the other day, first Ive heard of them here....unfortunately didnt get a pic of her
No, it is not even a lake. It is a required drainage basin when a large commercial building or shopping center is built.
It is exactly 1 acre and is 3 foot deep.
It is connected to a narrow canal which surrounds our community.
Our community is totally surrounded by a wildlife reserve.
The only connection with civilisation (lots off restaurants and shopping), is a 3 block long road entrance.
We also have wild boar and bears but they are more prevelant on the opposite side of our community.
We used to have lots of dear walking around between homes and in the streets.
Unfortunately many were lost to coyotes.
The only animals that are still numerous in the streets are the wild turkeys.
