I'm helping friend change over to an NVR and trying to figure out. He has about 7 cameras mix of LTS CMIP3042 (supports ONVIF) and Hikvision DS-2CD2543GS-IS. And considering upgrading some of the cameras and/or adding a few more.
1) if I need specific NVR for my older cameras, (I don't think so but wanted to confrim with you guys),
2) If I plan to upgrade some cameras, have it be compatible and able to handle newer technology / future proof
3) would like to have AI detection
4) Plan to do 24/7 recording
5) No cost access to cameras while off the network
Was considering a Hikvision DVR, thoughts: Hikvision DS-7616NXI-K2
