I read somewhere on the forum where a member modified the fan in the NVR-5216-4KS2. Well I would really want to thank them (can't seem to find post). I installed on a NVR-5216-4KS2 a new 40mm fan by Noctua (an Austria company). Model number NF-A4x10. The NVR-5216-4KS2 was reasonably quiet but even these old ears could hear the fan. I am proud to say I cannot even hear the fan after the modification. Doesn't really affect folks if their NVR is in a communication closet, but ours is in our theatre room component shelving. To install the fan is totally remove and replace with the exception of drilling hole for fan screws slightly for the larger screws. The temp is actually a little cooler now on the info status. Going from 63 C to 60 C. Fan speed is 2040rpm.
