Hello all, new guy here-- figured I'd stop in and introduce myself. Name's Nerpstramus, I live in the great state of 3 dimensional human existence on Earth. I can be pretty dumb, say dumb things, ask dumb questions and I'm generally disliked most places I go so, if I comment, post, or use words to express myself be prepared to think, "pretty sure I don't like this guy". No worries though, I don't offend too easily. At the moment I've got my dirty little booger hooks wrapped around a number of different irons. I enjoy networking and sysadmin stuff, I guess the pain keeps me interested lol. I have a standard avertx system but I've been looking around at different self hosted options. I recently built my own AI here at the lab (my garage) and It's really given me the ability to explore some tech routes that otherwise would have been significantly daunting-- it's got me looking at more involved and intermediate implementations of lots of stuff-- camera and surveillance included-- which is why I'm here. Anyways, short story long, I've been interested in security, cameras and self hosting for a good bit of my adult life and I'm ready to take the next step-- join a forum and talk to people way smarter and better adjusted then me about all this cool stuff.
