Hey guys, I really appreciate the response that I received on the other post and was able to get it to work at day. Now I'm trying to perfect the license plates at night and I think i've almost got it. Sometimes though, the plates aren't clear and I was wondering what settings would help! Thanks so much :)

I have like 3 cars pass at night so it's impossible for me to test every setting. I was thinking that it was maybe the focus?

I have attached a link to my camera settings and the license plate

Your gain, iris, and 3d NR are all way too high.

Drop gain to like 30

Iris try 30 - the pic should be completely dark until a car and then all you should see are plates and head/tail lights.

3D NR try 30.

Are you running B/W during the day? The focus for color to B/W is different, so it needs to be in B/W before it gets dark so that it can focus on something operating at that fast shutter.

Use that as a starting point and then adjust if needed.

Yeah, you could live with that, but I bet some minor tweaking of gain or 3D NR might clean it up a bit more.

Is that a house address on a mailbox going vertical on the image?
