Lost OVNIF events after changing password

I'm posting this here in Blue Iris but I realise it could be a hikvision issue. I updated my password with admin user in the hikvision web browser and then in Blue Iris but since I have been getting event errors and OVNIF triggers are not being passed to BI.

It shows a 'GetEvents error' with the code 8000ffff. When I look at the OVNIF events themselves it's saying 'NotAuthorized' in the XML read out and 'The device is locked because of entering the wrong username/password too many times. Please try it after 30 minutes!' So it seems to be an authentication error but the password is accepted in BI as I can still see the stream, just no OVNIF. How would I go about fixing this? I've tried on purpose entering an incorrect password and then the right one to try and reset it but that didn't work either.

The cams also have an ONVIF password that sometimes doesn't change when the admin password is changed.

Can you change password back?

Dahua cams have a tab for ONVIF passwords, but it has been awhile since I had a Hik so can't recall where it is.

Hi, thanks for your quick response. I thought it may something like that. Yes I can restore the old password and see what happens after that. I tried that and unfortunately it didn't work. I'm still getting the same error code. I'll do some searching for how to set up OVNIF passwords in hikvision as it seems likely that's the cause.
EDIT: spoke too soon. The error has cleared with the old password and OVNIF events are being triggered. I'll try and work out how to get a new password to work. Thanks.

Solved now. A separate user password update for OVNIF was needed. It was buried deep in the settings. Not the most user friendly set up. And a reboot of the camera and it took the new settings.
