After getting out of hospital after 5 months, I return home and find that I cant get into BI because I have forgotten (didn't record it) the password.
It there anyway I can reset the password or should I uninstall and reinstall.
Cheers

Try PM'ing Ken. There maybe a back door or super admin password or some way for him to remote into it, if you're lucky.

I personally always keep an excel file of PW's albeit the file is not named passwords just in case. If worried about it getting stolen, password protect it. You could even encrypt it or Zip and password / encrypt it to make it harder for anyone to access / buy you time if your pc was hacked. If you want to be really secure, save it to media off your pc and only insert / open it as needed. You could also print a paper copy and keep it somewhere secure with the digital copy on removeable media.

Passwords are hard. I am looking forward to the day when they are not used anymore and we have something more secure in it's place. That being said, I would highly suggest that you use a password management system (like Bitwarden) until that time comes.

Using a system like that is so much more secure than trying to remember passwords (which means you are using the same password for multiple machines, or internet sites, etc) which is a huge security risk since systems are hacked and passwords released everyday. Using a strong unique password for every machine, site, and login is really the most secure way to handle things. Using a password management system is the only way a person a realistically keep track of all those passwords in a form that will easily be accessible at any time, at any location.

Of course the key here is using a unique strong password to protect your password manager (and remembering it because you will be locked out of the manager if you forget it). But remembering one strong password is certainly easier than trying to remember 100 strong passwords.....
