UniFi Protect users need to be aware that their cameras don’t work without UniFi Protect; which means that if your UNVR restarts and/or is undergoing an update your UniFi cameras will go offline - Blue Iris will show the camera disconnected.
This does not happen with traditional
Dahua and Hikvision cameras which are connected to the network 24/7.
This is very disappointing…the fact that these UniFi cameras do not run independent of UniFi Protect / UNVR and rely solely on UniFi Protect to be running. Whats the point of the G6 Instant and G6 Pro cameras then which have onboard microSD storage?
