Kentucky UPS Jet crash....

I usually hate this type of video because they're so often from somebody that doesn't know what they're taking about giving a specific answer. This one is a refreshing exception where he stays in his sphere of knowledge and gives a reasonable laundry list of possible failures that led to the tragedy. I'm wondering why they couldn't climb? One inspection of the videos suggests a possible compressor stall of the center engine. If true, they're not going to climb with only one engine producing thrust. The other obvious question is if the left wing leading edge devices retracted as with American 191. I'd be really outraged if that issue wasn't fixed in the MD-11. But either way, with the way the fire was raging, I'm skeptical that they could have made it around for a landing before the wing failed. Possibly the only way the crew could have saved themselves was to go against training and abort the takeoff after the decision speed, with absolutely no time to analyze the situation. Truly a no-win situation.
