Japan earthquake causes Sony to close manufacturing of CMOS sensors

I personally just got the news from a contact in China about the Japan earthquake and Sony. He said they will have to rebuild some of their production lines. I figured I would share since it could effect all of us.

"We are not expecting any immediate supply disruption as we have some inventories right now. We will make an announcement promptly if any supply issues emerge"

I read that part, it will be a wait and see how long it takes to get back to full production. Everything from cellphones, digital camera, to security cameras "could" be effected.

With the submitted email in another thread from Longse about sony cmos orders. It makes me think Sony may be downplaying the problem to keep shareholders from getting scared. Or Longse is preparing for the worse.
