I got the latest version of the firmware for my IPC-HDW5231R-ZE cameras. I was running an older version that worked well but wanted to update since there have been some vulnerabilities of older firmware noted. I downloaded from Andy's website V2.800.0000032.0.R.250224. The update went very easy except now I get a "Download and install plug-in instead of a camera image. I am running macOS safari. Wondering if anyone has got camera image. The link is bad. .../webplugin.pkg. I have 10 cameras and need to understand this limitation before updating the others. Configuration tool shows an image so that is adding to my confusion.

Appreciate any help.

Thank you

M

That seems to be a big complaint when people update is now they get that download and install plug-in error. Some have never been able to get an image again. Others have been able to delete the previous plugins and it then reinstalls.

Those webplugin's only work on Internet Explorer and similar based browsers.

Are your cameras behind an NVR or isolated from touching the internet via VLAN? If so, the update is useless to you.

Running a macOS adds another wrinkle to the mix.

Have you tried PaleMoon browser?

I was able to go back to ver 2.800.0000018.0.R, Build Date: 2021-07-07. But know the menage is still there instead of the camera video live. Going to try a reset to factory and see if I can get it back... Darn !

Wahoo - I was able to successfully downgrade my IPC-HDW5231R-ZE & IPC-HDW5631R-ZE cameras to V2.800.0000018.0.R, Build Date: 2021-07-07. I now have all 11 cameras working on macOS Tahoe in Safari without the "plug-in plague". All live view windows now work without adding any additional plug-ins.
