Is this a BI issue or something else, lag?

I'm using the newest version of BI, the issue i have is lag. I can see something happen out side and on a camera i see it much later or on a PTZ i pan the camera and it happens secs later.

Restart BI and it all works instantly again.

Not sure what is going on.

And are your cameras going thru the router to get to the BI computer or are they isolated via Dual NIC or VLAN.

In other words, if you unplug the router, will your BI computer still see the camera feed?

No i have not, I have a 20 core CPU and it only sits at 30 percent usage. But i can try if you think that may be the issue.

They are going through a 48 port POE switch that connects to my PC by a Mellanox ConnectX-3. 10GIG Card.

The optimization guide exists for a reason - wrong settings in BI can hamper it working correctly.

People run over 30 cameras on a 4th gen computer with no lag or issues by following the optimization guide.

The computer does not lag only BI. I looked at the guide it seems old going back to version 3.

BI is not the most efficient program and has its quirks and the guide is still valid.

People come here all the time with questions about BI lag and the newest computers with tons of RAM and once they follow the guide, the problems go away.

So you are using the computer for things other than BI?
