Just a heads up to anyone considering the iegeek ie92.
Their eb page sales brochure found here :
ieGeek IE92 - 5MP POE Cameras with NVR for Home Surveillance System
and specifically under the tab "Design" clearly states that
a: ONVIF is a function
b: Remote access is available via Windows PC
Neither is true according to their support department, attached snippet from their email to me
"
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your purchase and for contacting us. We apologize for the issues you're experiencing.
Unfortunately, the NVR does not support access via a computer browser, and no computer app is currently available. Additionally, it is not compatible with RTSP and ONVIF functions.
You will need to use a monitor to connect the NVR to the monitor."
iegeek now refuse to answer my emails.
I have spoken to the supplier who in this case is a charity shop in the uk. Sadly they have aquired an amount of these via a 3rd party and are selling on ebay.
It is so sad that the charity have had to step up and offer a partial refund of 20% as an attempt to calm the situation, I am so far resisting the kind offer, since I feel it should not be the responsibility of the charity shop to step up to the mark.
On the other hand I have paid for someone to climb the ladder and install these cameras with the NVR with the expectation that I would be able to interface the product with Home Assistant, something I am not able to do without the ONVIF function. Neither am I able to exploit the AI alarms to send a flag to HA to enable the external lights.
Regards all
Simon
