How to delete a camera slot?

I have an issue with a Hikvision DS-7604NI-E1/4P V3.4.90 NVR

I have four cameras on the NVR. The 4th camera worked for a few days and now it just keeps detecting (for eternity) but never actually works. Its brand new so I doubt the camera is bad. I manually reset the camera and I can see it as inactive, however the channel is "taken" in a sense so I cannot add it to the forth channel. Is there a way to manually wipe a channel so I can load the camera into it?

The channels associated with the POE ports are fixed and cannot be deleted.
But there is nothing to stop you editing the channel settings to match the IP address of the camera.
If the channel is in Plug&Play mode it should take over the camera management, and activate it with the specified password.
