Hikvision recording on event but no entry in the log

I recently bought my first pair of IP cams to record my frontyard and I am using Synology Surveillance Station on a DS124. My cams:
DS-2CD2386G2-IU
DS-2CD2363G2-IU

I overcame a few beginner's obstacles and now the setup works ok - I have live view and recordings on event on the NAS, I can see it in DS-Cam and in Hik-Connect, I am getting push notifications and I have remote access through VPN (blocked external internet access for both cams in my router), except there is one issue.

Before the NAS arrived I had installed SD cards into the cams to start "playing" with the equipment. These SD cards are still inside the cams now with surveillance station also running and recording.
SS did not record 100% of the events I wanted (maybe 80%) from the beginning so I started changing motion and smart event settings over and over. I also used different FW versions for both cams, I tried 5.7.15 and 5.7.18.
I then noticed, that there are much more recordings in the Hikvision-Connect app (reading from internal SD card) than in the DS-Cam app (NAS). So I thought my SS settings are bad.
But then I checked the Hikvsion log files in both cameras, and for every log-entry there is also an event set and a recording in the SS.
The issue is there are way more recordings on every cam's SD card for which no log entry exists at all (yes I mean the Hikvision log). So I guess that this is the reason why SS would not record it. The cams record the event on internal SD card but do not set any event or motion marker on some occasions maybe 20-30% of the time.

Anybody seen that on his setup?

I see the same issue on both cams, and on both FW versions I used.
