Help on getting plate number in text from DH-IPC-HFW7442H-Z4VH

Hi Folks,

I recently got the older ANPR camera from Dahua, DH-IPC-HFW7442H-Z4VH. I am trying to find a way to get the vehicle details such as plate_number that is overlayed on the image in text format.

I have basically so far set up ftp that will send me snapshots to a server. These images has the vehicle information overlayed on it, but hoping that there is some way to also extract this as text from the image metadata or get it in text format from the camera.

Anyone here with experience that knows how to set this up?

I believe some of the members have done something with AI / OCR to get plate data .. hopefully we'll see a response.

Perhaps you can share some sample images you are working with so far ?

Thanks, looks like I messed something up while fiddling with the camera so the images are now missing the data as well. Let me figure out why the overlay disappeared and then I will update with a photo.
