Ok, lets start with the boot loop. I did a firmware update of a bunch HDW5231R-Z all from same vendor, and not chinese versions. One of the cameras did not work after that, and tried to reset it - no IR lights or indicatiors, but I see it frag POE power and works in that way (not competely dead).
After the reset I got no UI, no detection, ssh, telnet or so on, BUT the ip was reset to 108 - but just for some seconds. Running ping against it I get a .108 reply 2-4 times, then quiet for 30 seconds, then 2-4 replies. Sounds like the camera is just rebooting.
Would it be a fix to be able to reupload the firmware without having to solder on any serial connections to this camera, or is it possible to halt the boot and control the camera since it does send some packets from the camera during boot?
Then to the stupid question: Those plastic packages inside the camera (with some brown stuff inside), are those for transport or permanent use inside the camera? Do you guys remove them or let them stay?
