Just wondered if anyone else has ever seen this sort of "nit" moving around in the image? It appears at the bottom of the central post at the start. It's inside the camera I reckon owing to my having cleaned the external window but seeing no evidence of anything on it anyway. At night, it's a white dot moving around, and vanishes if the IR illumination is turned off. It reappears if the deck lights are turned on. Without illumination, nothing shows. I assume it's a small insect...but don't really know, so wanted to see if anyone else had seen and figured out such.

That is pretty weird. Seeing it in a main stream (higher resolution than the above) and in night conditions may help us identify it.
I doubt it is inside the camera because that would be extremely out of focus but this looks fairly sharp. Also if it was inside the camera it would not be moving.

Yes I agree it is almost certainly something very tiny on a spider silk strand, blowing in the breeze. It could be anywhere between the camera and the deck railing.
Yup, that appears to have been what it was....swept that area and the "gremlin" vanished. Thanks for the idea, bigredfish and bp2008....somewhat surprised that the silk strand didn't show up at night, but it would've been very small. Mystery solved!

Looks like a plain ordinary everyday micro-sized flying saucer to me.
