Hi all,
I have Dahua N52B3P4 NVR and one of the cameras, N43AJ52, aslo from Dahua, started to give me this message. It worked fine before I put the CAT5e cable into PVC conduit. I did not change the cable, just slid it inside the conduit and re-terminated the end for the camera. Verified cable integrity with remote cable tester - OK.
Did not change the settings on NVR. I know the camera gets the power because the IR lights are working at night and the camera body is warm. All information of the camera is the same as before - verified in Configtool. Here is a weird thing - I can see the camera in SmartPSS if it's connected with a short cable in the server room but not with the actual run. It's only ~ 200 feet, and it worked before. The only change was the portion of the cable, about 70 ft went into the ground (in conduit) instead of hanging on trees. Anybody has any idea what else I can check? Thank you. .grig

Yes, I agree, it sure seems that way, but .. I hate to re-pull the cable. The continuity is verified, the length is the same as before and I'm not getting "can't find the network host" just can't open video. Any other idea?

Simple continuity testers don’t tell the full story.

Have a buddy did very same thing, constant problems. 200ft run. I kept telling him it was the cable or connections. He fought it for months. Every 12-24 hours a camera would go dead.
They worked fine on the bench with a 3 ft cable

I took a pre made 250ft cable over, laid it on the ground, connected it. Lets it sit that way for 4 days, stopped back over and the NVR recording showed no interruptions

It sucks but if you can be 1000% sure your connections are ok, cable got twisted or kinked and needs replaced

I am fine with pulling a new cable, just don't want to do that if I can help it ;). Will make and run a new cable on the surface and if it fixes the problem, of well, will pull the new one.
Thank you for taking time to reply.
