March 22, 2026: Landing CRJ900 collides with a firetruck crossing the active runway to tend to another aircraft declaring an emergency after FA's reported oder in the cabin after 2 rejected take-offs.
January 29, 2025: UH-60L collides with a CRJ700 near DCA
Both incidents occurred while the US Government was in a shutdown, when ATC controllers had to fulfill multiple roles, on different frequencies, to cover for their colleagues who elected to call in sick rather than work without pay.
Our elected officials in Washington, DC are directly responsible for both incidents. Full stop. Vote them all out of office.
Wish all the ATC controllers would go on strike, but Reagan made sure that will never happen again.
