EmpireTech latest New firmware, Device Guide video, Manual WEB5.0

I bought it from Andy, but I think I flashed it with the official Dahua firmware some years ago. This explains why I'm seeing "Algorithm authorization failed, please import license." Since I'm using Blue Iris, I don't think I need these algorithms. I guess it has something to do with AI detection?

You are correct, it should be this model: IPC-T5442TM-AS. That's why I couldn't locate it on his website.
My guess is you will be ok flashing the firmware from Andy's site but I would reach out to him to make sure. Let him know your issue...

I plan to purchase a few more cameras from Andy and feel his firmware is as good or superior in some ways to Dahua....but the best advise that is commonly repeated....if it's working as intended, or as you like, there is very little reason to do firmware updates.

It also seems to me that do-it-yourself homeowners, installing 8 or less cameras seem to like firmware updates much more than a small or medium company that has numurous locations with more tham 16 cameras....but I've never worked for a company that installs / maintains a county wide group of cameras.....maybe they have their own dept that does that. Like stop signs and traffic lights. :idk:

I agree. Unless there is a security update or a feature you are looking for or even when a camera is new and will have a few improvement firmwares, that would be the only reason to update. As we know most cameras don't have many, if any security updates. Plus, if your setup is done correctly, No camera should be on or have access to the Internet, Period.

I think people get use to updates with IoT devices. There are always breaches and most people have these devices exposed to the Internet, even freely connecting them to cloud services. I say freely, some people even pay for those services, haha
But I get it, convenience for the Non-DYIers...I have a whole family full of them, lol...with their Ring Doorbells, Nest Thermostats and Alexa's hahaha, all of them on Fakebook, sharing their every move...

Opps, sorry, got on a rant, lol....

Hey Andy. I have a NVR5232-16P-4kS2E that I am having issue with V4.002.0000000.8.R, Build Date: 10-30-2024 firmware. When I am using the Webplugin with Edge or direct IE the extended controls show but no video. If I use Edge you can see video but no extended controls. I have tried different computers Windows 10 and 11 and different browsers which leads me to believe it is something on the NVR. What firmware would you recommend that we know is good to go for this and hopefully either eliminate the NVR being the problem or fixing it. If you are interested here is the thread where you can see everything we have tried.
Thanks
