DS-2CD2342WD-I Password reset

Yes, I can
The decrypted and decoded file reveals that there is the usual admin account, and an additional user account.

For account admin the password=admin2019
For account betreiber the password=betreiber2019

It looks like there is a third account
For account telefon the password=telefon2019

Good luck!
..I hope this doesn't count as necroposting, but I'm trying to resurrect a DS-2CD2342WD-I

Config file and .xml attached. Pleeease? :)

wow, I'm glad I came across this thread.
I have 8 cameras from an Aliexpress purchase in 2015 that went into a new home.
I have 7 x DS-2CD2335-I (external) and 1 internal DS-2CD2432F-IW. I'm sure they all have same password

I remember the NVR password, but not the camera password.
Two cameras have since stopped recording and I have also lost have any live view on the Hikvision iOS app.
I've had a technician attend my home out who tried to reconfigure the cameras but no luck - need my password.

I'll try and the XML file once I get home today or tomorrow and hoping that @alastairstevenson might be able to assist

I'll try and the XML file
That file - presumably from using the 'forgot password' button in SADP - is a reset request file that has to have a response from a Hikvision support system, it doesn't hold a password.

If any of the cameras have firmware between 5.3.0 and 5.4.4 then you may be able to use this method to extract a configuration file without a need for credentials :
http://<camera_IP_address>/System/configurationFile?auth=YWRtaW46MTEK

If that works - zip it up and make it available, and it can be decrypted and decoded to reveal a password.

OK, no go :(
Connected laptop to a ethernet port on back of NVR by unplugging one of the cameras.
Fired up SADP tool, to get camera IP address.

Used above URL by substituting all camera IP's one by one, but again, nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong ?

Camera firmware is V5.3.3, which is within the applicable firmwares

Unable to post images, so here the link:

(What triggered it all is the Error code OSCVG16. I might create a separate thread after searching.)

That should work, it's a version which has the backdoor security vulnerability which allows a configuration file to be extracted without authentication.

What did the browser show after the URL was applied in the address bar?

Did you set the PC IP address to be in the same range as that of the NVR-connected cameras, such as 192.168.254.100 ?

aarggghhh, thanks mate. I am not very cluey with networking :screwy:, although I can follow instructions.
So, did that and it worked for all cameras except one.
I could get the config files for all cameras, even the ones not showing on Hik-connect.

The file, configurationFile, must be pre-unpacked.

I used this website and uploaded file, and just shook my head when I saw the password. It all came back to me lol !!

Well, back to entering data into NVR and see if it worked !

Will report back

Thanks again @alastairstevenson
All cameras are back online except one D4
Showing NO LINK. Have shutdown NVR and booted again after few minutes
I can access the camera via browser by typing 192.168.254.5 in Chrome and entering username & password. But Live View isn't available because of WebComponent.exe issue

Any idea why D4 has an exclamation mark and is not showing in Hik-connect ?
