Defeating a firmware check

I've got an Amcrest camera I want to flash to the Dahua equivalent. I know there's risks involved. It's a camera I can afford to lose.


There's some sort of check in place that keeps me from flashing to the firmware I want to move to.

ASH21v2 to H2A firmware.

Any tips on defeating the check, to get me closer to the goal?

Maybe someone has figured a way, but recently the rebrands have been hard-coded to prevent people from buying cheaper versions and flashing with the OEM equivalent. Or they simply put in electronics that can't handle it.
