Hi
I have a new to me Dahua Thermal Hybrid Speed Done Camera TPC-SD2221. The thermal camera is displaying a blank grey screen with flashing blue and red circles moving around the screen. I really don't know anything about these cameras, any ideas?! Thanks

Hello @s300bee ,

Can you share a video or a screenshot with the issue?

From your vague description, it may be the thermal camera covered over and you're just seeing the red/blue circles to indicate the hottest and coolest parts of the image.
But hard to know without a photo.

Many thanks for your reply! Here is a pic of whats going on...they jump around the screen!

Those red & blue markers are the hottest and coldest part of the image by the thermal camera.

This camera's thermal imaging has a very narrow field of view. It's designed for a distance of at least 10m/33ft. Try pointing it outside and see if more detail can be captured by the thermal camera.
Right now it's capturing a surface that's an even temperature.

Ok so that made no difference. Is the a shutter on the lens as there is a bit of clicking going on? I really know nothing about cameras!

I got brave....so it apprears shutter is not stuck shut? Not that i actually new it had one!

The shutter is needed for thermal cameras. It is used to constantly calibrate the temperature accuracy. By default the setting it set to 3 minutes (FFC).

The shutter closes when the camera loses power.

Don't get dust in there and don't damage the lens alignment.
You may have turned this into a paper weight. :(
