Hello!

I have DHI-NVR5232-EI with POS functions. As I see it - POS data is actually a metadata, it doesn't "burn" into a video record. So when I try to playback with SmartPSS Lite - it shows me gaps in the full-time recording in the places where POS occured. As I see it, SmartPSS Lite doesn't know a POS type recording, hence the issue. When I try to playback it via NVR's WEB-UI - it shows correctly, but using web-ui is a PAIN. So my question here is the following: can I "burn" POS data into the video, so it will be there simply as a part of the picture, like the Time or Camera Name?

Or simply suggest me a Windows-based tool which correctly shows POS fragments in the recordings.

Is the POS overlay contained in the RTSP stream when it is sent to VLC? If so, you should be able to record it.

Try the following URL in VLC to see if that is the case.

NOTE: Be sure to put 2 "/" after "RTSP:" as forum software will not display 2 "/" consecutively.

Code:
rtsp:/user:password@NVR-IP:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0

POS overlay is.... well... an overlay...
It's supposed to let you search a customer order and find the specified video within your footage. Not to be used as a general text stamp in the video.

If you want to set text on your video, I suggest finding an API document showing how this can be done.

I used a word 'overlay' as it's used in the IPC settings, for things like the timestamp or the channel title

I get that.
I like to differentiate so it's less confusing when comparing the two.
