Hi
Im looking at buying NVR5216-EI. Currently using Synology's Surveillance Station with a bunch of Dahua cameras. With Synology, we can create webhooks and have external services call the webhook to flag or mark a particular point in the recording's timeline.
Looking through some old post, there were some mentions about Net Alarm, I suspect more info on this may be in the SDK docs, which I havnt yet obtained or gone through. But because the post, or general info in relation to Dahua API are a few years old. I thought I'll check if anyone know that if there are any recent methods or easier methods for external services to flag a particular point in the recording's timeline?
Using the NVR's alarm input is perhaps one option, though I'll need to investigate into this more, as it likely need some additional hardware. Ideally if there is some software approach like webhook or api calls, it would be great. Though so far from my general search, I feel this is unlikely.
Currently I have these NC sensors that is hooked up to a ESP board, that triggers Home Assistant to make a webhook calls to Synology to flag particular points in the timeline. Hoping to retain this workflow some how with the Dahua NVR.
I've gone through the NVR manual, but nothing seem to stand out.
A bit of a backround. I do like Surveillance Station, the UI and UX, I find it very easy to export clips and finding motion events. But their mobile app, long-delay-login, and the uncertainity on where Survillence Station would be in the next 5 yrs. Would they continue in this prosumer/smb market? Their AI based NVR seem, at least from marketing material, for its price, does not seem competitive to other brands. As well, although I've accepted the cost of the camera licenses. I need another 8 license. And the cost of the 8 license is equalivent to NVR5216-EI. NVR5216-EI also have ANPR, something I would like to play around with. I've tried frigate but its text based configuration, especially the yaml part, really doesnt tickle me. I understand its easier for the developer to work with, but as an end user, I do prefer an UI for configuration. I've done coding, I know UI coding can be pain -.- .
So if you underestand my pain and perhaps found a solution that works for you, feel free to share
