Dahua NVR Email - smpt gmail trouble

I'm having a little trouble getting email notifications setup on my NVR5208-4KS2. I've allowed less secure sign-ons for my throw-away gmail account, input the correct username, password, port 465, SSL, although no workie. My DNS is setup as 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4. Any suggestions?

Edit: I've also tried using TLS with 587 - also no workie.

I was having problems as well but I just resolved them a minute ago.

The first thing you will need to do is go into Gmail and enable less secure apps.

Then the Dahua NVR settings are:

Enable: (Checked)
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465
Anonymous: (Unchecked)
User Name: (Your Username)@gmail.com
Password: (Your password)
Sender: (Your Username)@gmail.com
Encryption Type: SSL (My mistake was leaving the default "None")
Subject: (Your email subject)
Receiver: (Make sure you add the email address of at least one recipient.)
Interval: 120 (I left the default)
Health Enabled: (Unchecked and 60 - I left the defaults)

Press "Okay" first, you should get the message "Successfully operated!". Then press "Email Test". Within 10 seconds you should get the message "Test Succeeded")
