Hi everyone,

I have issues with my 2 new Dahua IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 purchased from Andy. I use only IVS, recording events to SD card. I'd like it to be only triggered by humans. However it keeps beeing triggered by animals.
I configured them with internet explorer.
Accupick and Metadata OFF.
MD / SMD off
I did @wittaj 's advices regarding shutter / exposure configuration
IVS filter seems to work for motor vehicles i.e when unchecked it doesn't trigger on vehicles anymore, which are identified by yellow boxes
Human are correctly identified by blue boxes
However, as showed in the attached videos, animals are triggering IVS, despite the fact that there are not recognised as humans, i.e greenbox (which I understand stands for unrecognized object) and not blue boxes

I tried to 3 factory reset one one the camera, upgrade to latest firmware, do another 3 factory reset, it does'nt change the fact that animal filter seems to not be taken in to account

Thanks in advance for your help

Bob

I have a couple of cameras (4K-X) that trigger on animals and they don’t even have a filter for it.
They don’t otherwise trigger on bugs or shadows or rain etc so I don’t mind it.

Those both have an updated FW from Andy, not sure if that’s the issue or not. You may try and contact him.

Did you try the global configuration?

You may have one of those weird FOV where you might need to set a min object size.

1. you draw to much tripwires...
2. you can configure minimum size for IVS rule to catch only bigger objects...
3. you can try IVS learning database and teach camera negative objects (like birds) to not recognize them..
4. you can try long distance mode (aka large AI mode) (in IVS->global settings). it uses much better / bigger AI models then..

Thanks for the replies.

That was my next step. What I find curious is that for me the camera doesn't recognize the bird as human since it's marked with a greenbox whereas humans are marked with a bluebox. Thus it should not trigger the IVS. I'll try a min object size but it's kind of a workaround for a behaviour I quite don't understand

1.That number of tripwires was for testing purposes, since animals doesn't come that often, planning to reduce it after that.
2. I'll give it a try but as said above it's kind of a trick for a strange behaviour
3. I did try it, for now not being very effective, I keep updating the database
4. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me from other threads' posts that long distance mode does the exact contrary of what I want, removing filter possibility and triggering on far smaller objects which is not the purpose here

The camera will be recording 24/24 to a 5208-EI NVR but I intend to link the alerts to my alarm system which allows it, thus it's problematic if triggered by birds and cats

I don't have one of the newer EI NVR's. Is it possible you have Animal detection set to record on the NVR GUI (always make changes and settings on the Camera GUI

Gotcha

Like I said, I've tried as well and the only thing that worked was setting the min size as @wittaj and @steve1225 suggest.. I dont get many so I just let it alert.

But to reiterate, my 4K-X does not even HAVE the animal filter, go figure. Its actually REALLY good at it but shouldnt be
