Does anyone have one of these either hikvision or Dahua, if so, how did you get the mic to work so someone in the room can hear you from your cell phone?
 
Did you have to do anything special? The dahua app has a microphone icon, I click on that and I do not hear anything out of the camera. There are different protocols and stuff for the audio. I'm guessing the hikvision is similar. The speaker works cause I can trigger an alarm sound from the web interface.
 
nothing special, just set to g.711ulaw, not sure if that was the default but it think it is. I would try the various protocols and see if they work.
 
We figure it out. The privacy setting in the iphone settings was not allowing use of the MIC.
