Hi,

I am going a bit nuts with setting up a no name Chinese ONVIF camera..
The camera's fixed ip is 192.168.1.10. I need to change it to the 10.1.1.xxx scheme.
The rest of my network is on a 192.168.0.xxx scheme.
i have an Ethernet cable going from my laptop to the built in Poe switch of my NVR and another Ethernet cable going from the camera to the Poe switch on the NVR. The camera has one plug no power cord. It gets power from the built in Poe switch. The IR works so I assume the camera is working yet on the various ip finder tools the ip does not come up. Nor will it come up using a browser. What should I try?
am I missing something?

thanks,
Tubac

Dont use an nvr...power the camera with a 12v or use a poe switch...then match the laptops ip to the cameras subnet..

Thanks Fenderman. This camera has one Ethernet receptacle. So it's got to be an injector which I have. so one cable from my laptop to my network, and another from the ip cam from the Poe injector to the network. I don't get the last instruction,
"then match the laptops ip to the cameras subnet" Could you elaborate? Where do I make those additions?

Does the camera not have a 12v connection?

you need to connect the camera and laptop to a switch (no router).. then you will be able to log into the camera directly using the default ip...

I am able to ping the ip successfully. There are ??? where the Chinese characters were I am able to ping though. Missed the dropdown where it says English. Ok I have a live shot.
now where do I change the IP address? Device configure?

I found an app that brought up the default fixed ip.i've put in the new ip on the right as well as the gateway. Should I leave the subnet alone? Here is the app called Device Manager:

Well thanks to you but have changed the Ip on the camera and successfully added it to my system!
i haven't come across this. Instead of the http port being 80 it had an ONVIF port number which is 8899!
Anyway.... all is well with my system! Thanks again!!!

I've encountered the same issue, a cheap Onvif camera I got via Ali-Express. Language buttons that are meant to exist in the web interface according to the product description, are absent.

The software that works, is called Onvif Device Manager and can be found at source forge.

ONVIF Device Manager

After changing it's ip, it takes a few minutes to become available again.
