Getting the hang of it

I needed a stealthy cam down low. Over the last few years, the trees on our street have grown so that they block my view of some areas. With some testing, I found that a camera close to the ground could see under the tree branches.

I started testing using plastic flowerpots as a cover - something that would not seem out of place in a garden, but they were too cumbersome to work with.
This one was made from a plastic cover from a holder for blank CDs.

Inside the cover is a 15-year-old Panasonic SC385 with 18X optical zoom fast pan/tilt/zoom and good low-light color vision. It is "strictly" an indoor cam, but I've run several outdoors for several years in shop-made housings. They work OK with our mild Virginia weather. It also helps that it is on the north side of the house - out of direct sunlight and shielded from strong winds.
