SO I updated to Blue Iris v5.9.9.87 on 10/2/2025. I have BI check for updates on startup. So now when I start the BI Admin, it checks for an update. It says there is an update to v5.9.9.88 (10/3/2025). But... here's the kicker. If I agree to the update the Admin crashes. If I ignore the update, the Admin crashes, If I try to roll back the install to the latest version or the latest stable release it crashes. So NOTHING I do can keep the BI Admin panel from crashing. I can't even run a bug report. The website access works fine, the system is functioning normal. I just cannot access BI from the Admin panel. The iPhone App works normal. I just can't use the server Admin panel. Anyone else have this experience happening?

I've sent an email to support Friday, but haven't heard anything back as of yet.

Yeah, don't have BI check for updates on startup. Stay a few versions back. Go into windows folder view and copy the .reg files from blue iris.
and reinstall program, is all i can think of.
or boot in safe mode and see if it still crashes.

I've ran BI for years and have never had an issue. I saw there is a registry hack to fixing the auto check. I normally don't upgrade but I've always auto checked just to see if anything new came out. That'll change from now on LOL

I hope you can avoid reinstalling, but like my computer instructor once said, " it only takes about 30-45 Minutes to reinstall Windows, at some point troubleshooting may not be worth it"...or something to that effect. I just remember the part about "30 minutes to reinstall windows."
After some frustrations, and not much need, I usually go back to "no automatic updates" after i jump up a version. I sat on my last update for many months, until I saw DB 6.0 was out. now I'm keenly watching to see if a Version 6 appears. I have put myself in Beta tester land this week. lol.....SO far so Good.

I just did a cold reboot and reinstalled the update and it worked perfectly

Fixed the issue. Had to edit the registry and turn all the update values to 0. I was able to start the Admin Panel and get passed the bug.
Where you able to update after that ?

EDIT: Downloaded .89 update from the website instead.
