BI motion detect or Camera ONVIF events for trigger

I ran BI for years on my old system and used BI motion detection. I lost that system in a wildfire and have finally rebuilt and have a new BI system - new cameras, almost all amcrest. I was finding that BI motion detection was missing things even when I had the sensitivity turned way up - so I have started using the camera ONVIF events which is working pretty good as far as as I can tell - not missing events... are other people doing this, is it common? just curious... thanks

Short answer, yes. It's one of those things I found out about watching the forum threads. Depending on the scene your camera is looking at, it can save thousands of false motions, or missed motion.

Yes it is fairly common. Most of us will use IVS only for that very reason.


Who uses Dahua AI capable cameras? Reliable AI for triggering events? Pro's/con's?
