I researched the best video doorbells as i have been getting a lot of package deliveries lately and unfortunately had one go missing. i have been experiencing some concerns about security at my front door since i’m not always home during the day. i went through reviews from trusted sources like Amazon, CNET, and TechRadar and after comparing many options these two kept coming up as the top choices:

Ring Battery Doorbell Pro

Ring Peephole Cam
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLXZ6HLT?tag=cnet-api-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1
however, i am having trouble deciding which one would be better for me and i would love to get your expert advice and hoping maybe some homeowners or people with experience using these devices on this forum can also share their advice.
i usually get multiple deliveries each week and also want something reliable for when i’m away at night, so which one would you recommend for me? any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

+1^^ regarding Reolink video doorbells, although their cameras get little love on IPCT. I've had 2 of their Wi-Fi doorbells running flawlessly since June of 2023.

Besides, since Amazon owns Ring so of course their cameras and video doorbells will get glowing reviews!

I’ve got a Ring Pro 2 and without the subscription it really is nothing more than something that gives you a live view, no local recording so it’s live or nothing.

Annual sub was something like £25, then it went up and then went up again, thinks it’s something £50 for the year now so I’m going to dump it and get a Reolink instead as that offers local recording and can be used with BI

Lorex 1K, 2K, 4K, battery powered models depending on needs and installation. All are on sale at the moment. Might see deeper discounts during upcoming Amazon Prime. They also have a discount program if you are replacing existing equipment. No receipts required just tell them what you are replacing.

PROS:
Local SD storage, cloud storage extortion fee is optional. Notifications with 2 way talk, remote recording access from SD card, multiple simultaneous RTSP feeds for thirds party integration. Works with existing mechanical or electronic chime. Requires no open firewall ports.

CONS:
No ONVIF or public API.

I needed white colored since I live a mile from the sun. I have three.

I have mine integrated into HomeKit with Homebridge
