Hello!

Longtime lurker on the forums and am finally going to start building out a small Blue Iris system, wanted to get the input of members if this would be a good PC for the price or if I’m missing anything to run 4-6 cameras recording at 1080p 24fps.

Price: $407
Inspiron 3670 Desktop
  • Intel Core 9th Generation i5-9400 Processor (6 Core, Up to 4.10Ghz, 9MB Cache, 65W)
  • Windows 10 Home
  • 128GB PCIe M.2 NVMe Class 35 Solid State Drive
  • 1TB 3.5inch SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
  • 12GB (1X4GB + 1X8GB) 2666MHz DDR4 UDIMM Non-ECC
  • 8X DVD+/-RW
  • Intel Integrated Graphics
Thanks in advanced!

I have seen that Wiki, what I have been looking at though is energy consumption/thermal differences between newer and older hardware which has me leaning toward buying new hardware and having a little headroom to grow.

With that in mind, are there any systems you would recommend?

At the end of the day, Dell lowered the price on the systems and had a coupon running as well, for the above system it was $360 out the door including an onsite warranty for 1 year. To me personally that's far superior to most of the older used equipment I saw on Ebay. Looking forward to starting the journey!
