Any issues with not using direct to disk recording?

Getting the hang of it

At the moment I am not using direct to disk recording or recording the sub stream continuously, just recording trigger events which is working fine so far.
All cameras are recording continuously to 128g cards so if something is missed I could go directly to the camera. This makes it light for my I5-6500 to run 8 cameras at 10% cpu.

The only anomaly I have seen is sometimes a vehicle will trigger a camera and after a few seconds it will disappear and reappear 60 feet down the road. But, when you use the scrubber to scroll through the clip it is there all the way through the clip. Almost like the sub stream recorded it but the main stream had a hiccup.
Any issues with this approach or suggestions.
Getting there.....
Thank you...

I have way more cameras than you on a 4th gen at less than 10% CPU. You must have something else wrong with your setup if using direct to disk makes your CPU higher.

You are re-encoding the video, which will make the CPU go up during motion and that could be why you are blanking out on main stream.
