Hey Everyone;

I've got a thermal camera setup with BI running AI. It will detect people when they are close enough but at distances it doesn't seem to pick them up. I tried using the IVS based AI but I get too many false positives with animals.

Are there any AI models which are good with recognizing people and/or animals in BI6?

Thanks

Really? Which camera? My thermal AI is spot on.

I have not seen any models based on thermal, so the current models would probably be poor.

Have you confirmed MD and SMD are OFF in the camera and BI motion isn't enabled?

I have the 3/4mm empiretech camera. I'll try to post the video that the camera is unable to properly detect some coyotes. I'm thinking they're maybe too far away.

I use my thermal as spotter cams for PTZs and the thermals are set to only trigger on people. It can do vehicle as well. Not sure if recent firmware added animals but I'm not tracking those.

My thermal camera does have human and vehicle filters for both the standard and thermal cameras. I have the filters shut off because I want to detect animals, which it does very well. Maybe the difference is that with this camera it will actually shut off the object filters instead of lying about it like almost all of the other cameras. do The thermal camera is by far the best animal detection camera I have, detecting through rain and snow, with no false positives from moving shadows, blowing grass, etc.

Here's a link to the video of the coyotes. BI motion detection obviously picks them up, but the AI doesn't identify the animals.
